PETERSON, Myrtle “Mitzie” – The family of Mrs. Myrtle “Mitzie” Cecile Peterson (Hennigar) wish to announce that she entered peacefully into eternal life on Sunday November 18, 2012 with her family by her side at the Cornwall Community Hospital. Left to mourn are her Husband Joseph Peterson. Daughter Charlene Lauzon (Lionel) Grandchildren Andrew Lauzon (Christa), Amanda Lee Lauzon and Great Grand Daughter Payton Lauzon. Special friend Barbara Parette. She will be missed by her many friends and acquaintances. She will also be missed by her feline friend Tika. Mitzie was born in New Brunswick on June 18, 1923 to Thressa Hennigar (Boudreau) and William Hennigar. She is survived by her Brother Jerry Hennigar (Helen) and Sister Clara Boadway (Les). Predeceased by her Parents as well as brothers Joseph Hennigar (Margaret and former marriage Goldie) and Tommy Hennigar (Ester). Sister Virginia Pouliot (Henri) and her best canine friends Sasha & Casey. Mitzie will always be remembered for her happiness in life and always making others feel welcome in her home. Resting at the Wilson Funeral Home822 Pitt Street, Cornwall where visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and Friday 8:30 – 9:15 AM. The Mass of the Resurreciton with Commendation and Farewell will be celebrated in St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church on Friday November 24, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Rite of Committal at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery, Cornwall. If so desired contributions in her memory to Hospice Cornwall would be appreciated by the family. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the home care staff Francine and Shirley who cared daily for Mitzie, always with a smile and never ending acts of kindness. Your actions will always be remembered. A thank you also to Dr. Faizer and his secretary Lynn for the excellent care and understanding given to Mitzie for the past several years, and lastly to compassionate and caring staff who cared for her during her brief stay in hospital. Mitzie will remain always on our minds and forever in our hearts.
